Today Miriam gave an invited talk at WTZ (Wissens- und Technologietransfer der Wiener Universitäten – Knowledge and Technology Transfer Center of the Viennese Universities) conference on technology transfer. Miriam’s talk was entitled “Beyond (Basic) Research – Key Factors of Technology Transfer for Researchers” and summarized her main learnings from patent applications, prototype funding and founding her own company UGP Materials. Miriam visited the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research (IPF) in Dresden today – very grateful to Dr. Anett Müller and Dr. Astrid Drechsler for organizing this great day, and very impressed by the IPF’s cutting-edge plastics engineering facilities!
We participated in today’s materials innovation day at TU Wien organized by TU Wien and the Viennese Chamber of Commerce. Miriam gave a talk entitled “Polyimide Synthesis and Processing”, Alonso presented a poster entitled “Synthesis of Polyimide Films from Aqueous Solutions”, and Dietmar presented our company UGP materials. During the last 3 days, the whole team was communicating with the Viennese public at the Wiener Forschungsfest (Vienna Science Festival). We explained various aspects of color chemistry – ranging from the origin of color to dye synthesis and the use of dyes for cell labelling – illustrated by several hands-on experiments. [Read more]
