Several team members will attend and present their work at the Danube Vltava Sava Polymer Meeting (DVSPM 2017) held in Vienna, Austria. Michael is going to give a talk entitled “Influence of solvent composition and additives on polyimide microparticle morphology” and Alonso (Implications of Monomer Salt Structures for Their Solid-State Polycondensation to Polyimides), Manuel (From rigid-rod to hairy rod polyimides) Elias (Novel Monomer Salts and Their Solid-State Polymerization to Polyimides), Tobia (En route to monomer salts of multifunctional amines with pyromellitic acid as polyimide precursors) and Lukas (Green One-Pot Synthesis and Processing of Polyimide-Silica Hybrid Materials) will present their work as posters. Gerald Singer’s paper “Processing of Carbon Nanotubes and Carbon Nanofibers towards High Performance Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers” just appeared in Key Engineering Matererials. The work results from our project Turbocomp (“Nanostructured Composites for Structural Applications in Aviation”) lead by Helga Lichtenegger and funded by the FFG. Congratulations to all co-authors! On May 4th, Miriam participated in the 22nd TU Forum entitled “Everything is chemistry (too)”. There, four experts engaged in an active discussion with the interested public (audience of ca. 150 people) on chemistry in everyday life.
