Hipassia’s first author publication “Green Hydrothermal Synthesis Yields Perylenebisimide-SiO2 Hybrid Materials with Solution-Like Fluorescence and Photoredox Activity” just appeared online (open access) in J. Mater. Chem A! We show that dye-metal oxide hybrid materials can be generated, with covalent linking of the components, in one pot in solely hot water. The resulting materials show fluorescence alike that of the dyes in solution, albeit the materials are solids, and can be used as photocatalysts. Congratulations to all co-authors!
