We attend the “STEPI 10 – Polyimides and High-performance Polymers” taking place from June 6^th-9^th in Montpellier, France: Alonso, Bettina, and Lukas will present their research work in the form of poster presentations, and Miriam is giving an invited lecture on “Non-classical approaches towards polyimides: Hydrothermal polymerization and solid-state polycondensation”. The ProDidactica awards honor the best courses in the BSc curriculum “Technical Chemistry” at TU Wien. With the course “Inorganic Chemistry 1”, Miriam was awarded the 2^nd place in both the category “lectures – best presentation” and “lectures – fairest exam”. At the “Lange Nacht der Forschung” (“Long Night of Research”) numerous research institutions open their doors to the interested public. We show our work on high-performance polymers and hydrothermal polymerization in an exhibition at the Getreidemarkt campus. The exhibition features several poster, electronic tear-downs showing polyimides in everyday life objects, rocks with hydrothermal veins, our hydrothermal reactors and volcano models. [Read more]
