Grant awarded for “watER dyes” project

We are excited to share that we have been awarded a grant from the Christian Doppler Research Association’s Transfer.Science to Spin-off program – an initiative focused on advancing innovative research projects toward commercialization. The project “watER dyes – The hydrothermal synthesis of fluorescent dyes” focuses on a new class of fluorescent dyes, which are synthesized hydrothermally using only hot water – a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly process. These next-generation dyes show high specificity for cellular structures such as the endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, and lipid vesicles, opening new possibilities for live-cell imaging, diagnostics, and organoid research. Congratulations especially to Danica, project scientist in our Adjunct PI in Vienna, who is the project leader, but also to the entire watER dyes task force – Danica, Fabián, Alonso and Miriam – who worked relentlessly and in a superb team effort on this project.
