Frank and Alonso participated in the International Conference on Sustainable Chemistry for Net Zero (ICSC-NZ) in St. Andrews, UK, an international meeting focused on advancing green chemistry and sustainable solutions for a low-carbon future. Alonso contributed to the Sustainability and Circularity session with a flash talk titled “Commercial Polyester Depolymerization through Hydrothermal Techniques”, where he showcased how hydrothermal conditions can effectively recycle polyesters and how this approach can be evaluated in terms of green chemistry metrics. Frank presented in the Sustainable Energy Storage session, delivering a flash talk entitled “Synthesis of Organic Molecule Intercalated Vanadium Oxide Designed for Electrochemical Energy Storage Applications”. He highlighted how high-temperature water facilitates the synthesis of innovative materials for next-generation energy storage.
