We are delighted to welcome Tobias, who recently joined our group to perform his bachelor thesis on the hydrothermal synthesis heteroaromatic-based polyimides and their processing. We wish Tobias lots of success for his project and a cheerful time in the lab! [Read more]
Our most recent publication entitled “Green Hydrothermal Synthesis Yields Perylenebisimide-SiO2 Hybrid Materials with Solution-Like Fluorescence and Photoredox Activity ” was recently featured in the German newspaper Südkurier. To read the article, please access here [only available in german] [Read more]
We are excited to share our latest cover page! The cover of the 24th issue of the Journal of Materials Chemistry A accompanies our latest publication on hydrothermally synthesized perylenebisimides-SiO2 hybrid materials. In our manuscript, we report the intricacies of synthesizing hybrids in one-pot using nothing but water. [Read more]
We are very happy to welcome Katharina, who joined our group in June 2022 to perform her bachelor thesis on the exploration of synthesis and processing of polyimide-based compounds. We wish Katharina all the success for her project! [Read more]
Hipassia’s first author publication “Green Hydrothermal Synthesis Yields Perylenebisimide-SiO2 Hybrid Materials with Solution-Like Fluorescence and Photoredox Activity” just appeared online (open access) in J. Mater. Chem A! We show that dye-metal oxide hybrid materials can be generated, with covalent linking of the components, in one pot in solely hot water. [Read more]
Our latest publication “Synthesis of 2,3-Diarylquinoxaline Carboxylic Acids in High-Temperature Water” just appeared (open access) in Synthesis. We performed a detailed parameter study finding that quinoxaline carboxylic acids suffer from decarboxylation when hydrothermally synthesized, and how this side-reaction can be avoided. Congratulations to first author Fabián! [Read more]
Our latest publication “Clickable Cisplatin Derivatives as Versatile Tools to Probe the DNA Damage Response to Chemotherapy” just appeared (open access) in Frontiers in Oncology. In collaboration with Joanna Loizou’s lab we report click-able cis-platin derivatives can be employed as tools to investigate the repair of DNA crosslinks. [Read more]
We are very happy to welcome Frank, who joined our group for his MSc thesis on the hydrothermal synthesis of hybrid materials. We wish Frank lots of success for his project! [Read more]
We warmly welcome Brendan, who is joining us as our first MSc student at the University of Konstanz. Brendan will be developing hydrothermal syntheses of framework materials. We wish him all the best for his MSc thesis research! [Read more]
